What Is Whipped Feta?
Whipped Feta is a modern take on one of Greece’s oldest ingredients… Feta has been part of Greek food culture for over 2000 years! Ancient Greeks preserved sheep’s and goat’s milk in salty brine – a simple method that kept the cheese fresh, safe and flavorful in the Mediterranean heat. Blending feta until it’s smooth is a recent idea, born not from tradition, but from curiosity. A bit of cream cheese softens the edges and the structure and turns it into a light, creamy spread with that classic salty-tangy bite. A familiar flavor, but in a new form.
Whipped Feta is velvety and cloud-soft… On top goes a fresh salsa inspired by the classic Horiatiki – Greece’s iconic village salad with juicy tomato, crisp cucumber, red onion, green bell pepper, Kalamata and green Greek olives, oregano and red wine vinegar. Everything chopped fresh, all vibrant, bright and tasting exactly like what it is.
This Whipped Feta is for scooping up with bread and sharing at the table – simple, fresh and full of Mediterranean soul 🌞

- Veggies: Or dip with carrot slices, celery or radish, or add extra red or yellow bell pepper and cucumber for crunch.
- Tapas: Serve it alongside Cozze alla Marinara, Pomodori Ripieni, Funghi Trifolati or Pa amb Oli for a well-rounded tapas table!
- Mains: It pairs perfectly with Scampis Diaboliques and also with grilled chicken, lamb, fish and roasted veggies like Espárragos, aubergine, courgette…
- Drinks:
- Limonata is always a win!
- Or go for a crisp white, Sauvignon Blanc, Assyrtiko, Pinot Grigio or a cold pils!
Substitutions & VariationsÂ
- Cheese Swap:Â Use Greek yogurt instead, just a spoon or two, because it can get quite tangy and make sure to go easy on the lemon! Or mix feta with a cream cheese-yogurt combo for the best of both.
- Extra lemony: Add lemon zest to the Whipped Feta for an instant lift.
- Lime: Use a squeeze of lime instead of lemon in the whipped feta for a more fragrant, fruity twist.
- Sweet-Salty Twist: A honey drizzle and pistachios is dangerously good!
- No fresh oregano? Dried oregano (use a little less) or go fresh with mint or parsley
- Spicy Mood: Add more chili flakes or a tiny spoon of harissa on top.
- Super herby: Mix in dill + parsley for that fresh mezze feel.
FAQs
Can I make it ahead of time?
Sure, make the Whipped Feta and the the Greek salsa a few hours ahead and keep it covered in the fridge, then spoon the salsa on top right when you’re ready to serve, to keep it fresh and crunchy.
How can I store leftovers?
If it’s not mixed yet, store the Whipped Feta and the Greek salsa in separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to 2 days.
If it’s already mixed/assembled: store airtight in the fridge and eat within 1-2 days. The salsa will release juice and the veggies will soften a bit, it’s still tasty, just less crunchy.
