Why We Love It!
- It's just sooo good...
- Spring Freshness: In spring we crave fresh, green flavors in the kitchen and wild garlic is perfect for that.
- Forage & Make: You can easily forage wild garlic and use it fresh in this hummus and don’t forget the leaves and flowers for a beautiful finish.
- It's vegetarian!
What Is Wild Garlic Hummus?

Ingredients
Wild Garlic Hummus

-
Olive Oil: Use a good quality extra virgin olive oil.
-
Fresh Wild Garlic: If you’re working with fresh wild garlic, keep a few leaves and flowers aside for the final presentation.
-
Roasted Pine Nuts: Lightly roast the pine nuts beforehand. Stay close — they burn quickly!
-
Parmesan Cheese: Grate a little Parmesan over the wild garlic hummus at the end for extra richness.
-
Wild Garlic Pesto: Homemade Bärlauch Pesto is definitely the best option (recipe on our blog!).
-
Hummus: You can use store-bought hummus, but it’s next level with our homemade Classic Hummus (also on the blog!)

Serving Tips & Pairings
- Bread: Scoop it with Totopos, Pinsa Romana or roasted mezze bread for dipping
- Fresh veggies: Eat it with crunchy radish, cucumber, carrots or fresh cauliflower
- Tapas: Serve it alongside Havuçlu Tarator, Espárragos – a la Plancha, Pa Amb Oli, Whipped Feta, Funghi Trifolati, olives and pickles
- Side: Enjoy Wild Garlic Hummus alongside grilled fish or roasted vegetables
- Drinks:
- For a fresh alcohol-free option, try sparkling water with lemon or a cucumber-mint infusion or with our homemade Limonata… light and refreshing!
- Pair the Wild Garlic Hummus with a crisp dry white wine, a light rosé or a fresh wheat beer. For something with more body, a dry cider also works really well.
Substitutions & Variations
- Wild Garlic Alternative: If you don’t have fresh wild garlic on hand, store-bought pesto works just fine. Brighten it up with fresh herbs like chervil for an extra pop of freshness and colour.
- Hummus: Store-bought hummus is totally fine too, homemade is best, but both will still be delicious!
- Mix: We love using wild garlic as a topping so every bite is a little different, sometimes more pesto, sometimes less. But you can also swirl it right through the hummus for a fully green, creamy mix.
FAQs
Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, it keeps for about 2–3 days. It’s best enjoyed fresh for maximum flavor and colour. It’s also great for meal prep, enjoy it one day as a dip and the next as a sandwich spread or alongside grilled fish.
